He delivered the Crimson Tide a verbal commitment from Ty Simpson, a five-star quarterback, for the 2022 signing class.

Simpson, a native of Martin, Tenn., stands at 6’1″ and weighs 187 pounds. Since getting Jalen Hurts in 2016, Nick Saban has made the Tide attractive enough for five-star quarterbacks.
Despite it having Bryce Young, Paul Tyson, and Jalen Milroe, Simpson will bring a different element if he signs. According to Justin Smith, the scouting and recruiting analyst for Touchdown Alabama Magazine, he compares Simpson’s football traits to Johnny Manziel and Patrick Mahomes II. Both were superstars in college.
During a segment from In My Own Words, Smith explained to yours truly what Simpson brings to Alabama’s loaded quarterback room.
