According to a statement from Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the venue will increase capacity for events to 100 percent beginning on May 15.
A soccer match for Atlanta United FC will start the full capacity, but the University of Alabama football team is scheduled to open next season versus the Miami Hurricanes in Atlanta on Saturday, Sept. 4.
If everything flows as planned, Crimson Tide fans will be able to pack into Mercedes-Benz Stadium and have their presence felt.
The last time Alabama took on Miami was in the 1993 Sugar Bowl (1992 season) for the national championship. Gene Stallings and the Tide earned a 34-13 win over Miami.
