Drew Svoboda, Alabama’s special teams coordinator, has landed a punter for the program.

Jack Martin, a former standout at Troy University, has committed to the Crimson Tide.

He announced the news on Twitter.

Martin, a native of Dothan, Ala., is one of the nation’s top punters. The 6-foot-2, 222-pounder saw action in 11 games last season and averaged 46.1 yards per punt. He had 25 attempts, including one that traveled 66 yards. Thirteen of his 25 punts, 52 percent, were not returned as Martin forced fair catches. He dropped 13 balls inside the opponents’ 20-yard line and had eight punts of 50-plus yards. Martin also has the versatility to handle kickoffs. As a freshman, he executed all but seven kickoffs for the Trojans.
