Hard work and a viral video have paid off for Joshua Lanier.

After recently entering his name into the NCAA transfer portal, the former Alabama wide receiver has found a new home.

The Tuscaloosa native has committed to Deion Sanders and Jackson State University.

Lanier posted a video to Twitter of him dominating the Crimson Tide’s defensive backs in practice, and it grabbed a lot of attention.

He was on Alabama’s national championship roster in 2020, but now he has a chance to make an opportunity for himself. Last week, Lanier was featured on In My Own Words with yours truly of Touchdown Alabama Magazine to discuss his video. As a walk-on, he talked about the hard work he put in on the field. He also named a list of schools that had contacted him.
