Demarcus Riddick will be one of the top prospects in the 2024 recruiting class and it is easy to see why.
Riddick is listed at 6-foot-2 and weighs 205 pounds. He has the frame of a future D1 stud and possesses raw athleticism. He gets it down in every way imaginable for Chilton County High School in Clanton, Alabama.
The Tigers give Riddick playing time at running back, wide receiver, linebacker and defensive back. His natural position looks to be linebacker as he continues to fill out his frame.
Georgia Tech was the first program to offer Riddick on May 6. Penn State followed with an offer the next day. Multiple programs jumped on the Riddick train last month.
The sophomore told Touchdown Alabama the beginning stages of his recruitment have been a blast at the All Gas Training Showcase Sunday.
“It has been great,” Riddick said. “Every time I get one, I get happy. I thank my mom and my dad every time. They are the reason I am out there and have these offers, because they make sure I get where I need to be, like meeting with trainers.”
Georgia was the first SEC program to offer Riddick after he camped in Athens in June.
“When I was offered by Georgia, It was crazy,” Riddick said. “That is the best school that has offered me and my favorite.”
Alabama football has a history of prioritizing the state’s top linebackers in each recruiting class. With Riddick in a position to be among the nation’s top 2024 linebackers, the Crimson Tide are expected to give him a look in the future. The Chilton County product said he has interest in their program.
“I love Alabama,” said Riddick “It is a good school. It is like a hometown school almost. Tuscaloosa is an hour or so away from my house. If I got an offer from them, I could see myself going.”
