National media is building Alabama versus Texas A&M to be the SEC Game of the Year.

People see Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies as the lone team that could defeat Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide during the regular season. Alabama has to travel to College Station, Texas, on Oct. 9; however, it has beaten the Aggies four times at Kyle Field since the program joined the SEC in 2012. According to ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit, he gave the Herbie Award for “Must-See Game” to Alabama vs. Texas A&M. Herbstreit had his awards show on Thursday via the Worldwide Leader in Sports with Rece Davis.

The Aggies have recruited well, and some expect Fisher to be the first former Saban assistant to beat him.

Alabama also won the Herbie Award for “Biggest Shoes to Fill.” Coach Saban is replacing a starting quarterback, running back, and two wide receivers. Bryce Young takes over for Mac Jones, Brian Robinson takes over for Najee Harris, and John Metchie is the No. 1 receiver with DeVonta Smith gone. Alabama football is known for reloading, and it looks to do it again this season.

The Crimson Tide’s meeting against Texas A&M will be interesting as it comes in week six of Alabama’s season.
