Alabama’s 2022 four-star wide receiver target, Shazz Preston released his top four schools Monday.
Preston included Alabama, LSU, Georgia and Texas in his latest top school’s list. The Crimson Tide last hosted the Louisiana product in July. He made two trips to Tuscaloosa during the summer. Both visits gave Shazz and his family a good look at the Alabama football program, according to Preston’s father Shawn Preston.
“You want a program that is going to develop the whole child, not just as a football player but as a man,” said Preston. “You want a program that is going to teach perseverance, hard work and grit. Coach Saban has shown that those are some of the pillars their program is built on. I am really comfortable with Alabama being one of his final choices.”
Preston currently stands at 6-foot-1 and weighs 190 pounds. He is one of the more physical wide receiver prospects in the 2022 recruiting class.
“He brings a linebacker mentality to the wide receiver position,” Preston said. “He brings a lot of toughness and makes incredible catches. Sometimes I have to ask did he catch that. Sometimes when the ball is thrown, I am like there is no way he can catch that. He has a huge catch radius and is really physical.”

Kobe Prentice is Alabama’s only wide receiver commit. After signing four wideouts in the 2021 recruiting cycle, Alabama could add around three in the 2022 recruiting cycle. Preston is one of the Crimson Tide’s top remaining wide receiver targets along with Barion Brown, Evan Stewart and Chris Marshall.
