Rising 2023 DL JaQuize Buycks recruitment set to take off

JaQuize Buycks is on his way to becoming one of the most recruited defensive line prospects in the state of Alabama after a superb performance during the first half of the high school football season.

Buycks currently stands at 6-foot-3 and weighs 270 pounds. He attends Stanhope Elmore High School in Millbrook, Alabama. Through five games, the 2023 prospect has caused major disruption in the backfield by blowing past offensive linemen with his extremely quick first step and his ability to time the snap. He has also shown flashes of his ability to play in space when pursuing ball carriers and chasing after quarterbacks who escape the pocket.

“I feel like I am a very fast and disruptive defensive lineman, who can impact the game in more ways than one,” Buycks said.

The University of South Florida became the first program to offer Buycks Wednesday. Buycks previously told Touchdown Alabama USF, Troy and Arkansas State were a few of the programs showing interest in him before he picked up his first offer from the Bulls. If his film is any indication, Buycks’ offer list will grow in the near future.

The Stanhope Elmore product is working to get better as his junior season progresses.

“I want to improve on my strength and Recognition,” said Buycks. “You can never be too strong and being able to call out things like screens and runs before they even happen is something I wanna be automatic with.”

Alabama football has offered several 2023 prospects from inside the state of Alabama but is far from done evaluating a loaded in-state class. Buycks makes an already deep 2023 in-state class that much stronger.
