Despite not gaining any ground in the AP Top 25, Alabama moved up past Cincinnati to the No. 2 spot in the USA Today Coaches Poll released on Sunday.

This comes after the Crimson Tide narrowly escaped a 4-4 LSU team at home with a 20-14 win on Saturday, while the Bearcats had a hard-fought 28-20 win of its own against unranked Tulsa.

Georgia was the unanimous No. 1 team in both polls once again after a dominating performance against Missouri. The SEC was well represented in both polls which included Georgia, Alabama, Texas A&M, Ole Miss and Auburn.

Last week Alabama came in at No. 2 in the first College Football Playoff rankings which will be updated this Tuesday at 8 p.m. CT on ESPN.
