Alabama defensive back Marcus Banks has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal.
Banks made the announcement on social media, thanking the university, coaches, staff and fans during his time in Tuscaloosa.
“Thank you to all of the coaches, staff, fans, and especially to all my brothers/teammates at The University of Alabama,” Banks said in his post. “With that being said I’ve officially entered my name in the NCAA Transfer portal with 2 years of left of eligibility.”

Banks, a junior, joined the Crimson Tide back in 2019 and was rated as a four-star recruit according to Touchdown Alabama’s independent recruiting rankings.
Banks appeared in 24 games across his career at Alabama but was not able to crack the rotation in the secondary. The Texas native suited up for eight games in 2021 while making one start against Mercer. During his playing time this season, Banks recorded six tackles, a half a tackle for loss, one pass deflection and one interception.
Banks is the first Alabama player to enter the transfer portal this fall.
