Sources have informed Touchdown Alabama’s Stephen M. Smith that redshirt junior wide receiver Xavier Williams has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal.
Williams has not suited up for the Crimson Tide at all this season as head coach Nick Saban shared back in August he would be held out due to medical issues.
“Ziggy has some medical issues that’s keeping him out,” Saban said. “Without saying what, he’s medically not going to play this year.”
The Hollywood, Fla., native appeared in six games for the Crimson Tide during the 2020 national championship season. In his limited opportunities, Williams recorded three receptions for 24 yards while seeing time in both rounds of the College Football Playoff.
Williams is the second Alabama player in the past week to enter his name into the transfer portal as he joins defensive back, Marcus Banks who announced his decision to enter the portal on Monday.
