6-6 IMG Academy TE Jax Porter accepts preferred walk-on opportunity from Alabama

Jax Porter tweeted that he accepted an opportunity to be a preferred walk-on at the University of Alabama Saturday.

Porter currently plays for IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. He is projected to be a tight end at the collegiate level. The 2022 prospect chose to continue his football career with Alabama football over an offer from Akron and an opportunity to play for SMU.

IMG Academy has allowed the 6-foot-6, 230-pounder to use his size and aggressiveness to be an effective blocker as an in-line tight end this season. In previous season, he has shown the potential to be a big passing target for his quarterback.
