Ryqueze McElderry has spent the last couple of months working towards earning an offer from Alabama football, but he has been dreaming of an offer from the Crimson Tide for much longer.
McElderry is a 2023 recruit out of Anniston High School in Anniston, Alabama. He holds 15 D1 offers after picking up an offer from Alabama Friday. The Anniston product said he felt very happy to get an offer from the program he considers his dream school.
“I was excited because they have been my dream school,” McElderry told Touchdown Alabama. “I have been dreaming about getting an Alabama offer ever since I was a little kid. They are one of the top programs in the nation.”

McElderry’s offer came from Nick Saban and Alabama’s offensive line coach Doug Marrone. Both coaches recently got an opportunity to watch the junior’s film from this season and decided to extend him an offer.
Georgia, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Tennessee and South Carolina currently make up McElderry’s top five. He is set to make a decision on Nov. 30, but his newest offer gives him a lot to think about.
“It impacts my decision a lot,” said McElderry. “It makes my decision tougher and makes everything a bit tighter.”
McElderry is coming off of an impressive junior season with the Anniston Bulldogs. The 6-foot-4, 300 plus pounder displayed a lot of physicality at the tackle position and helped pave the way for Anniston’s rushing attack with his ability to get to the second level.
