It was already a big weekend for Alabama quarterback Bryce Young, and he started his awards season off strong on Thursday as he brought home the Davey O’Brien Award, for the nation’s top quarterback.

The Crimson Tide has now produced back-to-back Davey O’Brien Award winners with Mac Jones taking home the honor in 2020.

Young has turned in a stellar season for Alabama completing 68 percent of his passes and throwing for 4,322 yards and 43 touchdowns. The sophomore solidified his stance as the top signal-caller in the country with a tremendous performance in the SEC Championship game last Saturday.

Against Georgia Young threw for 421 yards and accounted for four total touchdowns in the 41-24 victory.

Young now awaits the Heisman Trophy ceremony on Saturday as he is also the favorite to take home that honor.
