Elijah Pritchett signed a National Letter of Intent to play football at the University of Alabama Wednesday.
Pritchett is a product of Carver High School in Georgia. He is rated as a four-star recruit by Touchdown Alabama and is one of the top tackle prospects in the county. He chose Alabama over Georgia, Florida State and others.
The four-star recruit said he committed to Alabama because of the relationship he had with their coaching staff.
“I felt like my connection with them was really strong,” Pritchett said. “I felt at home. That is what really led to my commitment. I think they have a lot of great things going on, and I can be a great addition to their program.”
Pritchett is listed at 6-foot-7 and weighs 295 pounds. He is an aggressive blocker, who can get to the second level. He carries his weight like a much smaller guy and has improved a lot during his senior season according to his head coach Corey Joyner.
“He is a one-man wrecking crew,” Joyner said. “We can actually run behind him and put him on the other teams’ best defensive lineman to protect the quarterback when we are passing the football. I think he has turned it up a notch. He was not as aggressive last year as he has been this year. The intensity that he is bringing to practice and to game is something I can rave about along with his attention to detail.”
