Alabama football is focused on winning Friday’s matchup against Cincinnati.

Will Anderson, a sophomore linebacker, said everyone is locked in. The Crimson Tide has not suffered any distractions since arriving in Dallas, Texas. Anderson said all players know what’s at stake, and no one wants to go home without a victory.

Cameron Latu, a redshirt junior, continued the mindset in today’s media availability. He was one of four student-athletes to address reporters in interviews. The 6-foot-5, 250-pounder has enjoyed a productive season. He is one of five receivers to catch 20 or more passes from Bryce Young. As a talented tight end, Latu has 20 receptions for 299 yards and six touchdowns.

He is averaging nearly 15 yards (14.9) per catch.

When asked about what he does for fun with Alabama in the hotel, the Utah native was strictly business.

“We watch film and bond as a team,” Latu said. “We are getting ready for the game. Getting ready to win, that’s fun.”

People have mentioned Josh Whyle of Cincinnati, but Latu is an athletic tight end. He started the season with two touchdown receptions versus Miami at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga. The absence of John Metchie (knee) will create a chance for Latu to be involved in the passing game. He presents a marquee target in the red zone and does well in his routes.

Latu and the Crimson Tide are ready for the College Football Playoff Semifinal in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl.
