Following reports that Bill O’Brien would be interviewing for the Jacksonville Jaguars head coaching position following the national championship, the two parties wasted no time getting together.

It was reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter that O’Brien would be interviewing for the job on Thursday as the Jaguars look to replace former head coach Urban Meyer.

O’Brien joined the Crimson Tide last season as the team’s offensive coordinator and helped create a top 10 offense nationally as the team went on its way to a national championship appearance. He also helped Bryce Young become the first quarterback in the history of the program to win the Heisman Trophy.

Prior to joining Alabama, O’Brien has seven years of head coaching experience at the NFL level with all seven coming with the Houston Texans. Across his tenure there, O’Brien finished with a record 52-48 with four playoff appearances before being fired four games into the 2020 season.
