Alabama wide receiver Javon Baker enters NCAA transfer portal

Javon Baker becomes the eighth notable name for Alabama to enter the NCAA transfer portal.

Respectable sources confirmed the news today to Touchdown Alabama Magazine. The sophomore wide receiver was a four-star prospect in the 2020 signing class from McEachern High School in Atlanta, Ga. He caught seven passes for 101 yards and one touchdown in 11 games for 2021. Baker pulled in a 24-yard score from quarterback Jalen Milroe against Southern Mississippi.

The 6-foot-2, 206-pounder played nine games in Alabama’s undefeated national championship season in 2020.

He won two SEC Championships and one CFP National Championship. Baker joins Paul Tyson, Drew Sanders, King Mwikuta (Arkansas State), Tommy Brown, Jahleel Billingsley, Jaylen Moody, and Shane Lee as a scholarship players to leave the Tide.
