RELATED: Bill O’Brien to the New England Patriots is becoming a real possibility
He set school single-season records for passing yards (4,500) and touchdown passes (41) while leading the team to an undefeated national championship season. After missing the playoffs last year, Jones guided the Patriots to a 10-7 record and a return to the postseason as a rookie. He totaled 3,801 passing yards and 22 touchdowns to 13 interceptions. His output for touchdowns broke Jim Plunkett’s rookie record (19) from 1971.
Jones had seven games with a 100+ passer rating and seven games with 2+ touchdown passes.
New England needs to draft more pieces around him, but it has the quarterback in Jones.
