Sources informed Touchdown Alabama’s Stephen M. Smith that running back Camar Wheaton has entered the NCAA transfer portal. The news was first reported by Matt Zenitz of On3. This comes after reports of Wheaton’s name no longer being listed on the University of Alabama student directory last week.
Wheaton arrived at Alabama in the 2021 singing class and was rated as a five-star running back.
Although he was a highly regarded prospect, Wheaton battled a meniscus injury that was suffered in practice. The injury ended up being significant as head coach Nick Saban said Wheaton still had a ways to go back in November.
Wheaton would eventually have to use a redshirt year and did not see any game action during the 2021 season.
