After a great career at Westview High School, Simpson will battle sophomore Jalen Milroe for the backup job behind Bryce Young. The 6-foot-2, 195-pounder won Gatorade Player of the Year in the state of Tennessee after tossing for 2,827 passing yards and 41 touchdowns in 2021. He rushed for 862 yards and 11 touchdowns. Simpson led Westview to a Class 2A Tennessee State Championship during his senior season. He chose the Tide over Clemson, Ole Miss, and Tennessee.
It is going to be fun to watch him compete and become a marquee player at Alabama.
