According to a report from 247Sports, Tyler Steen is transferring from Vanderbilt University. He will visit the University of Alabama next month. Respectable sources have also confirmed with Touchdown Alabama Magazine that the coaching staff is looking for a transfer on the offensive line.  Steen, a native of Miami, Fla., started 33 games for the Commodores.

He arrived at Vanderbilt in the 2018 recruiting class from St. Thomas Aquinas High School.

Steen started 12 games at right tackle in 2019, nine games at left tackle in 2020, and 12 games as an offensive tackle in 2021.

The 6-foot-5, 315-pounder enters his fifth season in the fall. He assisted Ke’Shawn Vaughn to 1,028 yards rushing and nine touchdowns in 2019. Steen protected quarterback Ken Seals to toss 1,928 yards in 2020, a Vanderbilt freshman record.

If Steen chooses the Tide, he would be massive for the offensive front.

He would start at one tackle spot, and the other position comes down to JC Latham, Amari Kight, Dameion George, or Tommy Brockermeyer. Eric Wolford wants to have the best five players on the field as Alabama’s new offensive line coach.

We will see if Steen comes to Tuscaloosa.
