Nick Saban now has a former assistant off Bryan Harsin’s staff at Auburn University.
Respectable sources have confirmed to Touchdown Alabama Magazine that Cornelius Williams is expected to join the Crimson Tide’s coaching staff as an analyst. Williams earned the job coaching wide receivers for the Tigers in 2021, but he was fired after one season.

Three players caught 30+ passes for Auburn, including Kobe Hudson (44 catches) and Shedrick Jackson (40 receptions).
Williams, an alum of Troy University, started his coaching career as a graduate assistant for South Alabama in 2010. He excelled in coaching receivers at Murray State (2011), North Alabama (2012), Jacksonville State (2013), UAB (2014), and Troy (2015-20).
Williams brings a young offensive mind to Alabama’s staff behind the scenes.
He’s had success with receivers and offenses throughout coaching stops in his tenure. Williams played wide receivers for four seasons (2006-09) at Troy, helping the program collect a 26-3 record in the Sun Belt Conference. He posted 63 receptions for 764 yards and seven touchdowns. Williams won four consecutive Alabama 6A state titles at Hoover High School, helping the Buccaneers to a 56-3 record. It will be interesting to see how he assists the Tide to be more creative offensively in the fall.
