Osborne’s top schools’ list was rounded out by Clemson, LSU, Oklahoma, Georgia, Miami, Florida, USC, Auburn and Oregon. The Hewitt-Trussville product had to narrow down more than 50 D1 offers.
The Crimson Tide offered the in-state prospect in January, and he told Touchdown Alabama his relationship with Alabama’s staff has continue to grow.
“It has been getting stronger,” Osborne said earlier this month. “I talk to coach (Freddie) Roach a lot. They just got coach (Eric) Wolford, and we really had a good relationship at Kentucky. We have been talking a lot since he has been in Alabama. I talk to coach Saban a few times as well. I am excited to get back down there in March.”
Alabama was set to host Osborne last weekend, but he had to reschedule. He is considering visiting again on March 31, but no plans have been finalized.
Osborne is listed at 6-foot-4 and weighs 260 pounds. He is projected to be an in-line defensive end at the next level. However, he also could develop into an effective edge rusher or outside linebacker at the next level. The Alabama target is comfortable in space and has shown an ability to stack-and-shed. He also has good backside pursuit and knows how to time the quarterback’s release of the football to knock the ball down at the line of scrimmage.
