Malachi Moore ended his freshman season as the best player in Alabama’s defensive secondary.
He led the team for interceptions (three) and received Freshman All-SEC, second-team All-SEC, and Freshman All-American honors for his performance in 2020. Moore endured a sophomore slump in 2021 as he totaled 17 tackles, two tackles for loss, an interception, a quarterback hurry, and a pass breakup. He had issues with back spasms and Brian Branch grew as a playmaker.
Moore is healthy this spring and is prepared to bounce back. Crimson Tide fans know the caliber of player he is when healthy.
On Friday, Stephen Smith of Touchdown Alabama Magazine broke down Moore via In My Own Words. He touched on how vital the Trussville (Ala.) native is to Alabama’s secondary, and the dominance Moore and Branch can have together on the field.
Hopefully, we see action from Moore in the fall.
