Jermaine Burton is earning his opportunity to be Alabama’s No. 1 wide receiver in the fall.
As a transfer from the Georgia Bulldogs, he has turned in a good spring.
Burton has impressed Coach Nick Saban, wide receivers coach Holmon Wiggins, and his teammates with his leadership and work ethic. He excelled in the Crimson Tide’s first scrimmage, and Saban highlighted him for big plays in the second game-like practice. Credible sources confirmed to Touchdown Alabama Magazine about Burton catching seven passes, including two touchdowns. One of his scores went for 97 yards as he displayed pure speed and explosiveness at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Burton totaled 53 receptions for 901 yards and eight touchdowns in two years at Georgia. He is filling in nicely for the departed Jameson Williams, and Tide fans are excited to watch him on A-Day. Brandon Williams, COO of TDA Magazine, released a video on Burton. Williams spoke on how impressed he’s been with the transfer, and what he expects from him in the coming season.
