Yhonzae Pierre announced his commitment to Alabama football Thursday.
Pierre is the third 2023 prospect to verbally commit to the Crimson Tide, and he is the second in-state recruit to choose Nick Saban and company. He chose Alabama over Auburn, Georgia and others.
Alabama has been recruiting Pierre for almost a year. The Eufaula, Alabama product picked up an offer from the Tide in May of 2021. He visited and camped at Alabama in June, and he returned to visit during the football season.
Pierre’s last visit to Tuscaloosa was in March. He told Touchdown Alabama the Tide was his leader of his March visit.
“They stand at the top because they are a good school and a good program, and I have a great bond with their coaches and some of their players,” Pierre said.
The new Alabama commit is listed at 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds, and he is projected to be an edge rusher at the next level. Pierre shined during his junior season with one of the most explosive first steps off the snap of the football.
