Nick Saban will enter his fifteenth spring game as Alabama’s head football coach on Saturday inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Alabama did not have an A-Day Game in 2020 (Coronavirus pandemic), but it has had support from fans in the past.

The Crimson Tide fell to Georgia in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, but coaches and players are ready to turn the page. Alabama’s push to return to the CFP stage starts with a successful spring game. Coach Saban is excited for the players to have an opportunity to put on a show for fans. On Thursday, he reiterated to reporters the importance of having fan support. He wants to see the “Bama nation” fill up the venue.
“One of the first things that helped this program get off the ground was the first A-Day Game,” Saban said.
“We had over 90,000 people. That sent a message to the whole nation about how committed we were to have a first-class program. People look at a university through its athletics program, and none is greater than football. To have a great crowd on Saturday, regardless of the weather, sends a message of the passion, desire, and support we have for having a great program.”
Saban knows it’s Easter weekend, but the players value the fans.
“I am sorry the calendar worked out this way, but we love having a great crowd,” he said. “The players really enjoy it, and they love playing for you. We appreciate all of you coming out for A-Day.”
A ninety (90%) percent chance of rain is in the forecast for Saturday.
We have not seen big crowds in recent years for A-Day, but maybe the fans will honor Saban by showing out this weekend.
