Eagles get an elite receiver in A.J. Brown for Jalen Hurts in a trade with the Titans

Jalen Hurts (#1) celebrates TD run for Eagles in 2021 game versus New Orleans Saints
Bill Streicher - USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles believe in Jalen Hurts as its starting quarterback.

He will have an electric duo at wide receiver with DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown. Philadelphia acquired Brown in a trade from the Tennessee Titans on Thursday night during the NFL Draft. Brown, a former Ole Miss standout, got selected in the second round (No. 51 overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-1, 226-pounder crafted his game after former Alabama star Julio Jones.

He recorded 1,000+ yards receiving in two of his first three NFL seasons.

Brown had a career year in 2020 with 70 catches for 1,075 yards and 11 touchdowns. He possesses a tremendous catch radius, body control, strong hands, and routes. Brown can separate from defensive backs and make contested grabs. Hurts needs to grow with multiple playmakers around him. Philadelphia continues its faith in his development by securing Brown.
