Alabama had three defensive backs to pursue the NFL Draft and one that got selected.
The 2023 venue may have several players in the Crimson Tide’s secondary hear their names called.

Brian Branch is one individual pursuing first-round draft status in the fall.
As a former four-star in the 2020 class, the native Georgian improved his production for tackles, tackles for loss, and pass breakups in 2021. Branch performed well as a sophomore with 55 tackles (five for loss), a sack, nine breakups (team-high), a quarterback hurry, and a fumble recovery. He shares the starting job at nickel (star) with Malachi Moore, but Branch proved to be more productive. The 6-foot, 193-pounder loves to hit, cover receivers, break up passes, pressure quarterbacks, and create turnovers. He fits the mold of a safety or nickel cornerback in today’s National Football League. Branch is prepared to put his family in a new situation. He posted a photo on Twitter with the caption, “This is the year for people who believed in me #bagyear #RollTide.”

If he balls out, Branch has every opportunity to be a first-rounder. We will see how consistent he plays throughout the season.
