On Wednesday, the Lou Groza Award announced the 30 players on its watch list for the 2022 season with Alabama kicker Will Reichard making the cut.
Reichard, a senior, has been one of the Crimson Tide’s most impactful special teams players in recent memory. Last season Reichard led the SEC in total points with 137 while drilling 22 of a possible 28 field goal attempts and going 71 for 72 on extra points. Reichard also excelled on kickoff duty averaging 59.1 yards per kick and 59 touchbacks in 2021.

His 2020 was something to be marveled at by Alabama fans as he was perfect on field goals and extra points during the Crimson Tide’s national championship season, and was also a finalist for the Lou Groza Award.
The Lou Groza Award is presented annually to college football’s most outstanding placekicker.
