Johnson attends Inglewood High School in California, and he is verbally committed to Louisville. The California product garners a three-star rating from multiple recruiting sites, but he is projected to receive a rating boost in the near future. He currently holds 20 D1 offers.
The Cardinals picked up a commitment from Johnson in April.
At 6-foot-5 and 250 pounds, Johnson is one of the most versatile prospects in the 2023 recruiting class. With his combination of length and athleticism, he could be a great edge rusher at the next level or be a dominant tight end.
Inglewood used the 2023 prospect as a big weapon on the offensive side of the football during his junior season. Johnson presented a big target for his quarterback while lined up as a traditional tight end and while lined up out wide. He proved he could go over the top of defenders and bring down contested catches with good body control.
The Louisville commit is also a physical runner after the catch.

Alabama currently has a commitment from one 2023 tight end in Ty Lockwood. Johnson could be a top tight-end target for Alabama moving forward.
