Alabama football goes into its matchup with Texas as an overwhelming favorite.
Several betting sites, including Caesars Sportsbook, Points Bet, and Draft Kings, have the Crimson Tide winning by at least 20 points. For the first time since the 2010 BCS National Championship Game, the Tide and Longhorns play each other in a marquee game. Alabama won three of four critical road games in 2021, but the loss came against Texas A&M, and the Tide was heavily favored. Jimbo Fisher told Aggie boosters at the Houston Touchdown Club that he would beat Saban while he is in Tuscaloosa.

Fisher made good on his promise as Texas A&M earned a 41-38 victory.
Saban knows the talent on Alabama’s team, but he is not with the idea of the Tide being a 20-point favorite over Texas.
“Everybody has heard that we’re a 20-point favorite in this game,” Saban said Thursday on his weekly radio show. “The last time we were 20-point favorites and went to Texas, we got our ass kicked.”
Alabama suffered a three-point loss to the Aggies, but its defense allowed several big plays, and its offense had two turnovers.
The crowd at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium will play a marquee role in the contest. Alabama’s offense has to communicate effectively, and its defense has to get to quarterback Quinn Ewers for sacks. The matchup is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. CT via FOX Big Noon Kickoff. After covering the spread last week, we will see if the Tide does it again.
