Alabama’s grades following a narrow victory over Texas Longhorns

Georgia reclaimed the No. 1 spot in the Associated Press Top 25 poll after Alabama escaped Texas with a narrow win over the weekend.

The Crimson Tide did not execute plays effectively and crowd noise at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium affected it.

Steve Sarkisian called a masterful game and nearly defeated his former boss on a national stage. Coach Nick Saban has several things for his team to work on as it returns to Bryant-Denny Stadium this week to face Louisiana-Monroe.

Alabama is 2-0 on the season, but new grades have arrived for the Tide following the matchup with the Longhorns. 

All six areas are below.

Bryce Young – [A]

Bryce Young gave Alabama fans another reason to be thankful he chose Tuscaloosa in the 2020 recruiting class as a California native. The Crimson Tide had rough moments on defense, its offensive line, and at wide receiver, but Young came through.

He was the difference between Alabama remaining undefeated or suffering an early season loss to Texas.
