Tennessee’s defense may be without a senior leader in its secondary against Alabama.
According to Trey Wallace of OutKick via FOX, defensive back Jaylen McCollough got arrested Sunday on a felony assault charge.

The police report said, “aggravated assault” at 9:14 p.m.
No monetary offer has been made for his bond. McCollough is a starter for the Volunteers through five games. The 6-foot, 205-pounder has 23 tackles, a tackle for loss, and two quarterback hurries. He led Tennessee for interceptions (three) in 2021 and had five pass breakups, a quarterback hurry, a forced fumble, 49 total tackles, and 3.5 tackles for loss. The Volunteers have other talented players on defense, but not having McCollough’s leadership versus Alabama’s offense at Neyland Stadium will be tough.
