The hope for Alabama football fans versus Tennessee is having Bryce Young return as the starting quarterback.
He did not play against Texas A&M because of a sprained AC joint in his throwing shoulder. Nick Saban told reporters the injury is not a ‘long-term thing,’ but supporters of the Crimson Tide want the reigning Heisman Trophy winner on the field. All concerns will cease if Young takes the stage at Neyland Stadium on Saturday, but small doubts could occur if Jalen Milroe starts.

Milroe, a second-year quarterback, did some good things against the Aggies, but he also had turnovers. Coach Saban said the native Texan played ‘with high anxiety.’ He tossed three touchdown passes in a 24-20 victory for the Tide; however, Milroe lost two fumbles and threw an interception. A formula is available for Alabama to defeat the Volunteers with Milroe as the starter.
Saban and company can handle the Vols with Milroe if it follows this blueprint.
1. Alabama’s defense has to shut Tennessee’s offense down.
Tennessee lost to Georgia and Alabama in 2021 for one reason: ineffectiveness in the run game.
Georgia held the Volunteers to 55 yards rushing in its 41-17 victory.
Alabama limited Tennessee to 65 yards rushing in its 52-24 victory.
