Alabama 34 – LSU 20
Key Insight: Alabama’s defense has to frustrate LSU’s QB Jayden Daniels.
He’s got the Tigers playing much better since the season-opening loss to Florida State. Daniels has 21 total touchdowns to one interception. Alabama must affect his throwing windows.
Offensively, the Tide must get off to a fast start. It cannot afford several 3-and-outs.

Alabama 38 LSU 20
Key Insight: Alabama will be tasked with slowing down a surging LSU team in Tiger Stadium Saturday night.
The Tide must contain Jayden Daniels and not let him make plays with his feet. He has the ability to extend plays, so getting him down in space once he escapes the pocket will be critical. Daniels leads the Tigers in rushing, but LSU has a deep rotation of backs.
Alabama’s offense will need to have more success on the ground. It will be interesting to see if Alabama’s offense can have success in the passing game on plays where Bryce Young has to make plays off-script. I expect Alabama’s defense to step up in this one and control the game.
PATRICK DOWD / ALABAMA BEAT REPORTER
Alabama 38 LSU 24
Key Insight: The bye week couldn’t come at a better time for Alabama as it has an opportunity to get its players right before the final push of the regular season. Namely quarterback Bryce Young has seen the health of his shoulder progress which will hopefully lead to more success in the passing attack for the Crimson Tide. LSU has shown great improvement in its first year under Brian Kelly, especially over the last several weeks. But Nick Saban has had a great deal of success going into Death Valley which will carry over today.
