Alabama fans could get something it wants badly this offseason.
According to NFL reporter Albert Breer, Crimson Tide offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien could be returning to the National Football League. Breer told NBC Sports Boston that O’Brien returning to the New England Patriots could be in play for next season. He mentions the connection between Nick Saban and Bill Belichick, and how Saban might be looking elsewhere for an offensive play-caller. Tide fans would love to see someone new running the offense next spring and the 2023 football season.
“I think [Bill O’Brien returning to the Patriots next season] could be in play here, absolutely.”

“I would be looking at the college coaching carousel,” Breer said. “Bill O’Brien’s name has been mentioned for some of these jobs, including Nebraska. Nebraska is said to be interested in him. So if he has an opportunity for some of the college jobs and does not interview, then that tells you he wants to go back to the NFL. I think that is in play.”

Breer said if O’Brien returns to the pros, the Patriots would be the team to look at.
It will be interesting to see how this offseason will unfold for O’Brien and Alabama.
