Nick Saban offers speedy 4-Star DB CJ Blocker

CJ Blocker made a trip to Alabama Saturday and picked up an offer from the Crimson Tide.

Blocker attends New Caney High School in Texas, and he is rated as a 2023 four-star recruit. He currently holds more than 25 D1 offers.

The Texas product has picked up recent offers from Missouri, USC, Florida State and Kentucky. Utah once held a commitment from Blocker, but he backed off his pledge from the Utes Wednesday, and he made his way to Tuscaloosa Saturday for an unofficial visit.

Nick Saban informed the 2023 recruit of his offer from the Crimson Tide before the Iron Bowl.

“Before the game started, I was called down to the locker room and watched the players get ready and lock in,” Blocker said. “Then they called me into Saban’s office, which I  didn’t realize until I turned the corner and saw Saban. We had a good conversation, and he extended me a scholarship. It was just joy running through my body all day.”

Blocker respects Alabama and its consistency. He gave the Tide high praises after earning an offer.

“As a whole, I think Alabama is arguably the best football program,” said Blocker. “They’re going over a bump right now, but you can’t ever count out Alabama.”

At 6-foot, Blocker is a long athlete with elite speed. He has a track background, and he has run a sub-11 on multiple occasions in the 100-meter dash. The new Alabama target displayed great anticipation as a senior, constantly jumping routes and turning interceptions into scores with his speed.
