Alabama football loads up on 2023 wide receivers

Cole Adams poses during alabama visit

Alabama football currently has commitments from four 2023 wide receiver prospects, who will bring more depth to a wide receiver room filled with potential.

Jalen Hale, Jaren Hamilton, Cole Adams and Malik Benson make up the Tide’s 2023 wide receiver haul. All four are verbally committed to Alabama, and the Crimson Tide are looking to get signatures from them in the future. Each wide receiver brings a different skillset to the table.

Hale is a long and rangy wideout out of Longview High School in Texas. His blend of body control, athleticism and ball skills make him a threat to go pull in contested catches all over the field. He has continued to grow as a route runner.

Hamilton has an impressive build on his 6-foot-2 frame. He will bring even more speed to the Tide’s wide receiver room. His route-running ability is currently among the nation’s best, and he is able to create separation off the line of scrimmage. The Florida native has the potential to be a sleeper on Alabama’s depth chart next season.

Adams was unable to play most of his senior season due to an injury. The scrappy slot wide receiver out of Oklahoma has the potential to be lightning in the bottle for Alabama. He is another speedster, who holds a PR of 10.65 in the 100-meter dash.

Benson is most likely going to be the most college-ready player of this group with his JUCO experience at Hutchinson Community College. He has broken Hutchinson’s receiving yards records, and he is bringing big playmaking ability to Tuscaloosa.

Alabama’s wide receivers will look to bounce back next season after having a down year compared to Alabama’s standards.
