Crimson Tide nation is clamoring for Jeremy Pruitt to return as the team’s defensive coordinator. Pruitt, an Alabama native, is well known throughout high schools in the state. He started his career at the University of Alabama as a graduate assistant in 1997 before returning as the director of player development from 2007 to 2009. Pruitt coached defensive backs from 2010 to 2012 and returned as the Crimson Tide’s defensive coordinator from 2016 to 2017. He was one of the best defensive coaches of the Nick Saban era, especially with the group he produced in 2016. Pruitt assisted Saban to four national championships in his time.

He got into trouble with the NCAA in recruiting at Tennessee as a head coach, but he could be cleared to return to the Southeastern Conference and coach. Alabama fans are on Twitter wanting him to come back home as a coordinator.
