One NFL Draft analyst has been comparing former Alabama running back, Jahmyr Gibbs, to New Orleans Saints running back, Alvin Kamara.
NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah says that he believes Jahmyr Gibbs’ game is “almost identical” to Alvin Kamara’s outside of strength.
Both Gibbs and Kamara were 4-star prospects coming out of high school.

For comparison, Kamara is listed as 5-foot-10, 215 pounds, and Gibbs is listed as 5-foot-11, 200 pounds.
Kamara was a member of the 2013 recruiting class and signed on with Alabama out of Norcross High School in Georgia. He left UA and went to Hutchinson Community College before he transferred to the University of Tennessee in 2015. Gibbs also had a change of scenery while in college, transferring from Georgia Tech to Alabama during the 2022 off-season.
In their final college seasons, both backs accounted for over 900 yards and were focal points of their team’s offenses.
Gibbs is projected to be selected in the back half of the first round, or early in the second for the 2023 NFL Draft, unlike Kamara who was selected with the 67th overall pick in 2017.
