Tyanthony Smith started this month with a bang when he picked up an offer from the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Smith attends Jasper High School in Texas, and he garners a three-star rating from multiple recruiting sites. He currently holds more than 20 D1 offers.
Alabama’s outside linebacker coach, Coleman Hutzler offered Smith after the pair had a conversation.
“I have been waiting on this one,” Smith told Touchdown Alabama. “Once I got it, I was very shocked. I did not expect it so early.”
The Texas product went on to give his thoughts on the Alabama football program as a whole.
“They are the program to play for,” said Smith “I believe they are good at developing linebackers and defensive backs. That is major when it comes to the football side. Now, I am trying to see how can I better myself in the classrooms.”
Smith camped at Alabama in July, and he got a chance to meet Nick Saban and Hutzler. The 2024 recruit feels blessed Saban has given him a look as a prospect.
“I love how he recognizes my talent,” Smith said. “That is really a blessing.”
Smith plans to visit Alabama on March 4.
At 6-foot-2 and approximately 190 pounds, Smith can play sideline to sideline and moves well in space. He is also comfortable dropping back in coverage as a linebacker.
