Bibb County’s junior defensive lineman, Trashun Griffin is hot on the recruiting trail.
Griffin has pulled in nine offers in this month alone. His first power five offer came Thursday when Cincinnati offered him. Maryland and West Virginia were next in line to do so.
Alabama, Mississippi State, Missouri, Georgia Tech, South Carolina and South Alabama have also shown interest in Griffin. The 2024 recruit said he feels blessed to be in the position he is in.
“It feels great to have offers rolling in,” Griffin told Touchdown Alabama. “I am trusting God all the way through this and without him, none of this would be possible, so I give all glory to him.”
A total of 14 programs have offered Griffin an opportunity to play football at the next level after he had a big junior season and put together some impressive film.
“Coaches are telling me they love my film,” said Griffin. “I am a dog on the field, and they knew I was something special when they first turned on the tape. I can make a big difference in their programs.”
Alabama football is one of the programs showing interest in Griffin. He visited UA in January and plans to be back in Tuscaloosa on March 4 for junior day.
An offer from the Crimson Tide would be special to the rising prospect.
“It would mean a lot to me, like all my other offers,” Griffin said. “I mean Alabama is the standard. It is a winning program, and it is a program that puts a bunch of athletes in the NFL, but it would mean something to me just like my other offers.”
At 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds, Griffin is athletic with impressive backside pursuit. He possesses a quick get-off and is a relentless pass rusher. The Bibb County product is looking to capitalize off his big junior season by improving his ability to bend and strengthening his mobility.
“I am looking to improve on my Flexibility, my explosion and coming off even harder,” Griffin said.
