One of Alabama’s newest hires for Nick Saban’s coaching staff is on the move.
ESPN’s Chris Low reports that Florida has made it official with Austin Armstrong to replace Patrick Toney as its defensive coordinator. Armstrong was targeted as the primary candidate for the position, but now the move is official.
Austin Armstrong’s stay at @AlabamaFTBL was a short one, as he’s accepted the @GatorsFB DC job and replaces Patrick Toney, who’s leaving to take a job with the Arizona Cardinals, sources tell ESPN. Florida TE coach William Peagler is also leaving to join the Cardinals’ staff.

Armstrong was hired by the Crimson Tide on Feb. 13 to serve as its inside linebackers coach, but now he is gone.
