A familiar voice is expected to return to the radio broadcast booth for Alabama football next fall.

Jim Ross, a Hall of Fame member across all wrestling platforms, is a close friend of Eli Gold. The voice of Crimson Tide football via Crimson Tide Sports Network shared with Ross that he is healing cancer. Gold told Ross he will return to the broadcast booth in the fall to call Alabama’s game. Tide fans missed Gold’s legendary voice last season. He has been the broadcaster for Alabama football since 1988, pushing the program to seven national championships and several SEC Championships behind the scenes.

Chris Stewart, the voice of Alabama men’s basketball, served in Gold’s place in 2022. Stewart did an exceptional job, but the Alabama nation is excited to have Gold back. He looks to call a College Football Playoff National Championship Game with Alabama in it this fall.
