Josh Jacobs remains in Las Vegas at least for the 2023 NFL season.

The Raiders applied the franchise tag on the former Alabama running back.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network shared the news Monday as Las Vegas holds on to the engine of its offense.

Jacobs, a former first-round selection of the 2019 NFL Draft, posted a career-high 1,653 rushing yards in 2022. He recorded 12 rushing touchdowns and won the inaugural Jim Brown Trophy for having the most rushing yards for the season. Jacobs will take a little over $10 million on the tag tender, but he could look at more money in the future. Derek Carr’s departure to the New Orleans Saints makes Jacobs the leader of the Raiders. He’s had three 1,000+ yard rushing seasons in four years.
