Devin Williams made sure he got to Tuscaloosa to visit Alabama football Saturday after earning an offer from the Crimson Tide in January.
Williams is one of the many Buford High School football players, who hold an offer from the Crimson Tide. He holds 23 Division 1 offers at the moment with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida and Texas.
The Tide was the 23rd program to offer the sophomore. He made his first trip to Alabama since picking up the offer Saturday, and it was a good one.
“The visit was amazing,” Williams told Touchdown Alabama. “The coaches were incredible. It felt like home.”
Williams previously said he felt like he was in an elite club when picked up an offer from Alabama.
“I was extremely excited and felt like I was in an elite club,” Williams said. “Alabama does not just offer anyone. It is a premier program in the country. Only the best go there, and the expectation is to win the National Championship every year. Alabama is legendary.”
Williams’ Saturday visit allowed him to get a close look at what has led Alabama to be ‘legendary’. His visit included a conversation with Nick Saban.
“It was surreal,” said Williams. “Just being in his presence was crazy. He gave me great feedback also.
The 2024 recruit got an opportunity to tour Alabama’s ‘entire football facility and their academic building.’ He also ‘met with several coaches’ during his visit.
“The facilities were top-notch,” said Williams. “They have everything imaginable to help a player develop on and off the field. Great support system there also.”
At 5-foot-10 and 165 pounds, Williams has blazing speed and holds a PR of 10.86 in the 100-meter dash. Williams’ speed allows him to turn and run with any receiver as a defensive back and it makes him a threat to create an exciting play every time he touches the football.
