Fox Sports analyst, RJ Young released his top 25 college football rankings ahead of spring practice last week.
Young’s list features four teams from the SEC with Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and LSU ranked. He has the two-time defending champs Georgia at No. 1, citing how tough it will be for Kirby Smart’s team with the departure of offensive coordinator Todd Monken and quarterback, Stetson Bennett. Tennesse came in at No. 5 on the list, looking to build on the success they had last season with Hendon Hooker. Josh Heupels’s team is expected to hand the reigns of the offense off to quarterback Joe Milton.
No. 6 is Alabama, who will be looking to fill the void of Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Bryce Young. As for now, the two front runners to take his spot are red-shirt freshman Ty Simpson and red-shirt sophomore Jalen Milroe.
LSU is the last team from the SEC on this list at No. 18, the Tigers surprised a lot of people in Brian Kelly’s first year as head coach, and will have their quarterback and best wide receiver back in Baton Rouge for 2023.
