One of the best defensive ends of the Nick Saban era at Alabama is on the NFL free agency market.
A’Shawn Robinson, a native of Fort Worth, Texas, has played seven seasons (2016-22) in the National Football League with the Detroit Lions (2016-19) and Los Angeles Rams (2020-22). He got selected in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Lions after a successful career at the University of Alabama. Robinson has played in 93 career games, totaling 293 tackles, seven sacks, five forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries. He’s defended 17 passes and recorded one interception.

The 6-foot-4, 330-pounder helped Aaron Donald and the Rams capture a Super Bowl title in 2020.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network says Robinson is one of the top free agents available on the market.
#Rams DL A’Shawn Robinson, one of the top free agents available, is scheduled to visit the #Giants on Monday, source said. The veteran could beef up a NYG DL that already includes Leonard Williams and Dexter Lawrence, among others.

He is scheduled to visit the New York Giants on Monday. If he signs, Robinson would join Dexter Lawrence and Leonard Williams. Robinson would give the Giants a dynamic defensive front. He would also have a chance to play with former Tide standouts, Landon Collins and Xavier McKinney. Robinson arrived in the Crimson Tide’s 2013 class as a five-star prospect.
He helped Alabama to two Southeastern Conference Championships (2014-15) and a College Football Playoff National Championship in 2015. Robinson anchored the Tide’s defensive front in 2015, recording 46 tackles, 7.5 stops for loss, 3.5 sacks, 10 quarterback hurries (shared the team lead), two pass breakups, and a blocked field goal.
